Discover the Secrets to Understanding Yourself and Others™

In a world where professional development programs abound, it’s baffling that so many individuals still find themselves discontented in their careers. According to a study by USHRA, a whopping 82% of executives and 78% of employees are actively seeking alternative employment. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for a paradigm shift in how we approach career development and personal growth.

Reflecting on my own journey, I can pinpoint pivotal moments that steered the trajectory of my career path. Despite being groomed to inherit my family’s dairy farm as the third-generation first-born male, I opted to follow my passion for communication and encouragement. However, this decision wasn’t without its hurdles, especially considering the discouragement I faced from a high school teacher who doubted my potential due to my poor English skills.

Choosing to diverge from the family business, I ventured into the realm of sales and eventually transitioned into a career as a sales trainer and coach. It was during this phase that I crossed paths with Consulting Resource Group International, Inc. (CRG) and became acquainted with the founder’s dissatisfaction with existing personality assessments like MBTI and DiSC. Together, we recognized the pressing need for a more accurate and reliable tool, which led to the creation of CRG’s Personal Style Indicator (PSI) (now in 13 languages).

Having embarked on my own journey of growth and self-discovery, I’ve come to understand the paramount importance of knowing one’s personal style. Research conducted by Talent Smart suggests that only 2% of the population will reach their full potential without this crucial self-awareness. Yet, dishearteningly, over 70% of individuals remain oblivious to their personal style.

At CRG, we firmly believe that many popular style assessments lead individuals astray with inaccurate information. That’s precisely why we developed the PSI—a tool meticulously crafted to provide individuals with meaningful insights into their personal style, devoid of the limitations inherent in other assessments.

One of the critical distinctions we emphasize in “Why Aren’t You More Like Me?” is the imperative separation of personal style from career paths. Contrary to common practice, personal style should never dictate someone’s career trajectory. Rigid profiling based on personal style overlooks the diverse strengths and talents that individuals bring to various professions.

Our approach champions the notion of individuals taking assessments that empower them to act autonomously. Instead of relying on professionals to interpret results, our tools arm participants with the knowledge and understanding to independently apply insights to their lives and careers.

In the book and our online course, we delve into groundbreaking definitions of extroversion and introversion, redefining these terms based on one’s orientation toward the environment rather than mere social behavior. This nuanced perspective enables individuals to better comprehend their reactions to their surroundings and navigate the world with heightened efficacy.

Furthermore, we underscore the significance of aligning decisions with one’s core motivational values. By identifying and prioritizing behavioral values, individuals can make choices that resonate with their authentic selves, leading to heightened fulfillment and success.

Lastly, we advocate for leveraging one’s strengths instead of fixating on weaknesses. Instead of attempting to overcome inherent traits, individuals should concentrate on harnessing their unique gifts and talents to achieve their objectives.

These strategies, meticulously outlined in “Why Aren’t You More Like Me?“, furnish individuals with a roadmap to deepen their self-understanding and unlock their full potential. In the past 35 years, I have personally had the privilege to conduct over 1000 workshops and training programs on this assessment and content with a rating of 4.7 out of 5.0.

At CRG, we are steadfastly committed to supporting individuals and organizations on their journey of self-discovery and personal growth. If you’re ready to embark on this transformative journey personally or for your team, we stand ready to accompany you every step of the way.

Until next time, keep Living On Purpose!
